Planning: Target Audience


Target Audience


To find out the target audience for Trap Music, I went on Yougov and searched for the target audience of two well known trap artists; Skrillex and Diplo. The profiles that show up are from the countries of the USA and the United Kingdom, and the results for both countries and both artists are relatively similar.


Diplo Fans

For the Diplo fans in the US and the UK, the target audience for Diplo would mainly be a gender of women. Compared to Skrillex fans who are men. In terms of thinking and resoning, the fans of trap music are considered liberal people. They are seen to be on the democrat, or the left wing side of ideas. 

In terms of age, the target audience age group is from people ages 18-29 with an urban, city lifestyle.

United States

Statewise, the fans of trap are considered to be located on the westside of America along the areas of Nebraska to California. Skrillex fans can also be found in Nebraska. 

United Kingdom

In terms of regional, fans of trap are mainly located in the Northwest of the UK for both Diplo and Skrillex. 

Personality wise, fans of trap likes to discover other forms of music. They like to socialize at parties, mingle with others and also, be the individuals that stand out amongst the crowd. They are more open to meeting new people and finding a crowd with a diverse culture. Healthwise, trap fans 














With all the references from YouGov of the inspired artist, we are determined to gain a target audience similar to Diplo and Skrillex in our music video "Faded 2.0". The target audience who are interested in the urban culture, urban fashion, moreover someone who is liberal and likes to discover new means to have fun, party and likes to try and experiment on substances. That way, they can relate to what we are presenting in our music video and also to interact and build a strong bond with the music video because of the first hand experience they had.
